July 8 at 3 p.m. is the deadline for nominations. An application form and other details are available on-line. Baratiak can be reached at x2078.

    Optimists Form Campus Club
Thirteen employees have formed the UCSB Optimist Club of Santa Barbara, making it the third university club ever established in the 86-year history of Optimist International, said Shari Profant, club president. The club, which is sponsored by the Northside Optimist Club Santa Barbara, will receive its charter at a banquet to be held on July 15. Optimist clubs perform a wide variety of activities to benefit local youth and community. Besides Profant, other officers are Barbara Bartolome, secretary; and Victor Bartolome, treasurer. All are welcome to their meetings on the second and fourth Mondays in the MultiCultural Center. For details, contact Profant at profant@lifesci.ucsb.edu.
