Virginia K. “Ginny” Johns, acting registrar for the past two years, has been named registrar effective the first of this month. The appointment follows a national search.

“I welcome and congratulate Ginny Johns,” said Betty J. Huff, Student Affairs Division assistant vice chancellor, in announcing the appointment.

Johns, who was associate registrar for nine years, is a UCSB alumna in music who has worked on campus since 1974. The first six years were as an administrative assistant in academic and research departments; then followed 15 years in various information technology positions.
